Hello everyone,

New to bikes, I've booked my CBT/DAS and am after some advice on what to wear on the day.

I suppose I'll be supplied with helmet/jacket/gloves, will I be Ok in jeans? and Hiking trainers or desert boots (Timberland style)?

Cheers

Jeans and boots will be fine, but obviously if you are going to get into motorcycling, then you might as well buy some decent kit anyway

I guess most places will lend you a helmet, a jacket and some gloves, but maybe you should make sure, just in case... I agree that jeans and strong boots will be fine. With trainers and such you might end up with the top of your toes very sore due to changing gear a lot... If you are getting into biking for good I suggest you get your gear first, at least helmet, to get one that really fits you well... Most places won't stock a full range but just a few of each size (usually the same model), and it can be irritating and hard to concentrate if your helmet doesn't quite fit right...

You might be able to boorow everything but most people take their own helmet, jacket etc.

Yea don't worry I've got my list of Leathers etc to buy once I've passed my test (currently running at £1300 eek ).

Tell you the truth I thought I'd look a bit of a tit turning up with all the gear and no idea paperbag .

You may do if you turn up in one piece race replica leathers (sliders and all), maybe wear your jacket with jeans for the 125, but apart from that I can't see a problem...
