I've been having overheating problems for a while with the Sag, usually airlocks and dumping coolant at weekly intervals. I replaced the radiator as that was the last thing it could be what a censoredof a job that turned out to be. Anyway she sits at 78 on the move now and up to 90 - 92 when stationery and the water level is fine.

(had to pay for the rad though)

The rad is a weak spot on the Sags, I know quite a few have gone and unfortunately it is usually the last thing you come to after going through all the sensors, hoses, wiping crap clean on the sensor contacts, etc.

Have just gone through clearing an airlock three times. Thinking the rad needs switching now as it's a couple of weeks since the last time and it's back up to 105+ again.

First time I get to test out the warranty...

my car is a 53 plate, since changing the rad i never get airlocks, j_s_g chances are one of your jubilee clips are loose and is allowing water to escape at high temps when the pressure increases, mine did this, pressure test will find the problem, i had 3 loose clips so replaced them with new better clips which i could tighten far more than the old ones (softer metal) without rounding the head.

been fine for last 6 months now

How about adding some rad weld to the system too?

Cheers bud - duly noted. Will get on the phone to TVR Power; they can take care of it all.

Going to post up some detail on this during the week once I've had a chance to take photos. Got a local bodyshop to fab some bits for me - still got a tweak or two to get it perfect (taking them on & off is currently a pain), but it's a definite improvement!

IMO you really only want to use that stuff if you're stuck somewhere. Once its in the system how do you get it out? (You just made me decide to add some to my 'continental trips pack'.

Plus, if someone is having overheating/temp fluctuation problems now, then it will be much worse once the hot weather arrives. Best get it foxed properly - which is what he's doing.

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing the pics. I've been thinking about some kind of clamp for the front of the panels.

So I hear from TVR Power. They haven't been paid for any of the warranty work they've done.

Hmmm, interesting... I bought my warranty off 'Power after TVR's "issues" came to light in November or so, and they said it would be fine...

So that sounds like the aftermarket warranty - that is different to the factory 3 year warranty which I think people are talking about here. I have the aftermarket warranty too.

Ah, gotcha... didn't realise people were on about the original new-car warranty. Yeah, it's the TVR approved wear-and-tear one I've got. Given it's underwritten by a company other than TVR, I'm guessing it should be fine.
