My 930 detail - pure self indulgence
Discussion
I had my 930 detailed by Damon Curtis (Detailfinish.co.uk) yesterday. I haven't had a car detailed before and have to say I'm chuffed to bits with it. I know there are a few 930 fans on here so hopefully you will enjoy these:
Edited to add: the images have become a bit "jagged", maybe to do with the re-sizing?

looks fantastic Andy, but not that much better than it was last time I saw it, looked brand new then too!
Hi Gary
I know it wasn't exactly a shed, but there were loads of swirl marks in the paint which have now gone. After 10 hours work, the light was fading when we took the photos and I'm not sure they fully bring out the deep lustre that it now has.
Anyway, it's been to the Nurburgring and on Eurohoon since you saw it!
Be nice to catch up again sometime. I still have a little shiver whenever I think of that Lincs hoon last year

Hope you don't mind me posting what was posted on the Stuttgart9's forum?

I don't generally post up my work myself so not to be seen to be advertising, but this car is so nice I thought I'd share it. The owner doesn't come on here.
A fantastic car. The more time I spent on it the more I liked it.
The owner is a really nice guy, drives it well. Its last big outing was on the Pistonheads Eurohoon.
The car is a 1989 911 Turbo (930) with a Cargraphic exhaust. It sounded great
The paintwork was very swirled so out with the rotary. Being a 18 year old car the paint is single stage so the pads came up a lovely colour
18 year old paint off the car
But the results are worth it
The wing before
After
Then the Swissvax Cleaner Fluid released the last of the paint/polish before applying the £1500 Swissvax Divine. A car of this beauty deserved it

I hope you enjoyed those pics

That does look completely brilliant, what a fantastic thing that a 930 can look so much better than most brand new cars
What exhaust are you running - and how does it sound?
Have you lowered the car at all?

The exhaust is a Cargraphic. It's not particularly loud but very deep and rich under power (if that makes sense) and throws out a veritable bombardment of pops and bangs on the overrun.
The suspension is standard. I believe the ride height has been adjusted because it does sit quite low, but I haven't made any changes myself. It just looked "right" to my eyes when I bought it.
