What do I need to know for my CBT?

Hi,

For those of you who dont know im going to be sitting my CBT soon, I am aware that there is no theory and I know this is a bit of a dumb question but is there anything I should know and should be prepared to answer to the instructer (anything to do with braking distance etc..). Even if not I will still have a good read at the Highway code anyway but its realy just so I know.

I done mine in the summer... didn't know a thing about a bike or even been on a bike.

They might ask you braking distances etc they did on mine, but i don't think its necessary to know them, may be worth learning them if anything it will make you look good in their eyes

Relax Grant, CBT stands for Compulsory Basic Training and involves some basic shit the powers at be think you should know befoe you get set loose on the roads. Go as a dummy, leave as a wiser dummy with a ticket to ride.

As it has been said, CBT is about training, it's not a test... Knowing the highway code is always best but your instructor will be there to teel you all you need to know and make sure you are ok with it, nothing more. Enjoy!

I would have thought the only way to fail a CBT was to crash more than once in a very daft way, or to look far too cocky whilst knowing jack sh1t.

If you pay attention, and show some respect for the instructors experience then you can't go wrong.

Absolutely. Don't get worked up over it....it is not a test. You'll sit on the bike, learn how the gears work, find out where the brakes are, have a little ride, then go home!! Piece of cake!!

I don't know anyone who has failed their CBT but are you sure that you don't need the theory test too?
