As part of the 12k service you get your tappets checked/adjusted. Can anyone tell me of the cost of this ( not the whole service just checking / adjusting the tappets )

TIA

Just had mine done at Racing Green - came to £233 of which £216 was labour so I'm sure you could finda better deal if you wanted

I am getting service done at Falcon in Middlesbrough and they have quoted my £350 plus vat to adjust them all. But they said they will just charge me for the ones that want adjusting .

Is this part of a service, or separate - that might have an effect. That price is quite expensive. Especially for a non main dealer. Obviously you want it doing properly, so you can't push them to cut corners, but even so...

Thinking about it, Hexham are just up the road. I bet they won't charge any more.

I thought it was a bit expensive. I am really impressed with the work this garage do so I am happy they will do the work right. I engine had a top end rebuild about 4K ago so I am thinking that the tappets cant be that far out ...... can they ?

If you look at the 12k Service Schedule on most of the websites offering TVR Services, they seem to quote the price for a full, factory schedule 12k service without the tappets being checked/adjusted. Comparing that with a quote I've had for full 12k service including check/adjust tappets, I would concur that the charge is around £300 all in.
