I've had the car for 7/8 weeks now and regularly scare myself sh$$less when I take her out on weekend's, however i'm not convinced that the handling is set-up as it should be confused. Ok I know that these cars are very twitchy and focussed on the limit and it feels pretty much like the other cars I test drove, only I would really like to get the suspension geometry and settings set-up for my own peace of mind.

Two questions to those in the know:

Firstly - I had the wheels off recently and noticed that the coilovers are running Yellow Springs with H&R Stamps, is this standard 996 GT2 fayre?

Secondly - Anyone know of a good Independent etc. that is knowledgable and capable of setting up the suspension, preferably in the North East/North Yorkshire area?

Many Thanks,
Carl

Carl , Redline racing , just up north of you , Middlesborough i think , they run / maintain cars in the carrera cup and know what their doing regarding this issue.

I wil try to dig out some contact details.

Paul

(Not reline racing the used car people in Harrogate though )

I have used RLR to do the geometry on my 993 RS. They definitely know how to do this as good as anyone. Their racing pedigree sees to that.

Mine was set up by Tech 9 too. Bit of a treck to Liverpool but worth it.

They are the standard fitment (and way too hard on the front IMHO)
Personally I'd sling the standard stuff away and fit Motons or KW V3 or something more befitting the car.
A decent geo set up will help, as will some rose jointed Cup toe links on the rear end.

why you would want to punish yourself running a marathon is beyond me, i used to do cross country at school and the 10km was far enough

hopefully more hotter weather tomorrow to drive and sunbathe
