Hi
I am going to the US in the next month and wanted to avoid the "driving round like a tourist" bit!!
Can anyone suggest a SAT NAV to accomodate and to also give me some other extras ie. Speed camera, bluetooth etc.
If anyone has a Tomtom Go 910 to give their opinion then that would be gr8 too.
Have seen the TT 910 for under £280 on t'internet. Is this a good price for what it says on the tin?

Having bought the original TomTom (classic) for £425 in 2004 (UK only, no Bluetooth, no hard disk) I'd say that £280 for a 910 with US, Canada, Europe, UK maps, Bluetooth, ipod port, hard disk, SirfStar III chip etc is an ABSOLUTE bargain. You could buy it, use it in the USA and flog in on fleabay when you got back for near as dammit what you paid for it. A lot cheaper than hiring satnav off the rental car company.

The new Garmin 370T has USA/UK/Europe mapping built in and also does RDS Traffic alerts.

Alternatively if you don't want to lash out a load of money, rent a unit from

www.satnavman.co.uk - I rented from them for our European banger rally last year and it was fine.

I work in london and San Francicso and I take my tomtom 910 between the two! Tomtom is great in the US. Some of the laws for attatching them to the windscreen are a bit archiac (its illegal to do this in california) but I work on the principal of ignorance!
