Will this happen soon?

In response to the PS3 been released I thought that maybe the system may fall in price to maintain demand however from what I can gather the 360 strikes me that it is still popular!

Thoughts?

unlikely.

Its at a pretty good price from a slight drop after xmas.

The PS3 is up at 450 quid with the WII down at 170.. so most likely expect good 'packages', but no actual price drop..

In fact the price might even rise very slightly in a while when they release the version with a proper HDMI conection on the back (Pictured on a few web pages a few weeks ago).

But I think it will be a no cost update of the system.

The HDMI version is the 360 elite. It has IPTV, the 120GB HDD and a black case. No idea if we'll see it in the UK (there are hints around that it will require you to subscribe to an AT&T broadband deal). In the US, the word is that it'll have no impact on the core and premium skus pricing, but that the 120GB hdd will be available seperately.

FWIW, I think we'll just see better bundles. I still think the best bundle seen was the £269 entertainment pack (PGR3, Arcade Unplugged, 1 month xbl card, extra controller) that PLAY did before xmas (and then put up to £289 after). I suspect we'll see a few more of those deal with games that are just about to transfer to classic status. An Oblivion pack would make sense, as it would increase the market for the 2400ms points Shivering Isles pack.
