I have had my D40 for a couple of months, and the reason I bought it was to record some motorsport images. It is very difficult to learn to "pan" correctly, but the Nikon does everthing it can to help. All you need is the imagination to set up the shot! Here are 3 highlights (they have not been through PS, and the day was very overcast!)

and my favourite

I posted that on the SELOC site and it got a great reception...........the best photo I think I have taken.

Please feel free to comment (good or bad) .........great way to learn!

I'm using a Nikon 55-200mm lens. A good bit of kit which I got as part of a package with the D40. Gets very good reviews!

Really like the Lotus. Focusing on the back really accentuates the motion of the turn. thumbup

I, too, like the Elise image...it just wrankles that he's turning in too early. irked

I think I'd brighten it up in levels and sharpen it a tad too.
