Afternoon all.

The lacquer appears to be peeling off the front of my S2000. It's only happening on one corner of the plastic nose section at the moment. I'm not even sure if it's the lacquer coming off as what is left behind underneath looks identical to what is still on the wings and bonnet. This made me wonder whether it is an additional stone chip coating or similar that is coming away and not actually the lacquer coat. Or maybe it could be a different finish that they put on the plastic bits?

Has anyone else experienced / heard of this problem before?

I'm not sure that it is a respray. I'll have a good dig around and check though.

What year is yours and has it had a respray at any point? Mine's a 53 plate and has had no work done previously. If it is a common problem then I might give Honda a call to see what they say about it. As mentioned previously, it's odd that it's only on the plastic panel and I know that plastic is considered harder to paint than metal. Although if it's the lacquer coming away from the paint I can't see how the plastic can be relevant. Unless they use different paint on the plastic? As you can see - I haven't really got a clue. silly

I had the same problem, and i think its because mines had the front end resprayed. So i thought sod it and had a full respray due to red being a notriously hard colour to match, get it back tommorrow!! Cant wait
