Gents,

The other day when going into work I managed to kerb my right rear wheel. Its not that bad, the metal is ok, theres just scratching of paint around the lip and about 1/4" up one spoke. I called chipsaway, but on looking at it they said that it wasnt a conventional finish, but rather a chrome effect over black paint, so they wouldnt get a good finish. Has anyone kerbed a wheel before and had it repaired, and wheres a good place to have this done?? Alternatively, is there anyone thats aware of any 2005/06 VXR wheels for sale single or a pair for some donut wheels (with or without tyres). Its not that bad at the moment, so I might just keep an eye out on ebay for some.

Thanks for any help

John

Whereabouts in the UK are you? To finish the wheel properly in shadow chrome requires the wheel to refurbed off the car, and can sometimes be a difficult match.

Im near Heathrow, I use the car every day, so Im ideally after a quick turnaround as the car will be running on the spare, alternatively if I can get a couple of wheels I would keep the ones I have a mount some old tyres on them for trackdays, etc. Has anyone had this done (refurbishment) or am I just the most careless owner on here???

Thanks

John

I'm getting a set of HSV GTS wheels done this week. The company are doing a collect & return from Taplow (Heathrow might be in their radius).

I should see the finished result on Friday. They are charging £118 + VAT for all 4 wheels.

Heathrow's not a million miles from Greens (Kent), I would advise you go there (you might even get a play in one of their supercharged toys while you're waiting )

VXR_Daz got his wheels refurbed nicely in the original finish. I can't remember who did it though.

www.lepsons.com/ <-- They did.

I'll be honest with you, they are not cheap (approx £100 per wheel!) But the service and finished product is superb.

Recommended to me by a very active dealer around here and I have no problem in passing on that recommendation.
