Would you say you suffer from a lack of confidence? hehe

I realise that might sound a bit cocky, but I feel comfy on the bike and I don't like to think negatively, so there

You spent more on gear than I did on my bike. It is only a 50 though

It's easily done! All I wanted was a pair of trousers and our lass ended up with more kit than I did!

To be fair though I had no gear at all and when it comes to that kind of thing I am not one for compromises... The way I see it is if I don't get the stuff I like just because it is a little bit expensive (some of the gear in the shop was too much), I won't enjoy myself as much... Also I wanted to be ok safetywise so I got a spine protector plate on top of the jacket, decent gloves and boots, etc... It's impressive how little things add up quickly. I also bought everything from Hein Gericke, probably not the cheapest but by far the best service in Chester! I couldn't recommend it enough!
Would you believe that , at an other shop, a salesman hardly looked at me when I mentionned I was looking at buying all the kit and asked if they had those £450 helmets in other sizes?

It's very easy to do, I know!

I walked into a local dealer with a mate of mine a few years ago, he was looking to buy a learner bike and ended up buying a Yamaha 125 trailee plus kit. I of course was just window shopping, as you do and ended up with a new Ducati 900 plus Dianese all weather suit, my Mrs went apefurious
