Whats this about a ticking noise ?

I've been reading the pre-cat removal threads and a few people have mentioned a ticking noise.

My 5l Griff has what I would described as a rev-related ticking, sounds to me like a leaking exhaust manifold somewhere but I've never traced it. I'm assuming I'm not getting this confused with pinking ?

Whats all this ticking business about (I know its not the clock cos that is duff !)

Sounds like an exhaust gasket to me too and bearing in mind your other thread about going on track - definitely get it checked out.
