I have 2 Motorola t5532 and they are excellent, they cut out a fair bit of the background noise and you can tell the difference between them and some cheapies

have used some motorolas before that were brilliant, and have used some cheaper ones that were rubbish.

can you get motorola performance with out paying a fortune?

or do you just have to bite the bullet and get some motorolas?

will be using them for ski / mtbing / car convoys
but thought bikers use them quite alot and this would be a good place to ask the question

cheers

I have Kenwood TK3101s. Very sturdy and twice the range of the cheaper ones* but as you say, not cheap. I bought used off ebay for half price and they are so sturdily put together that I've had 4-5 years use.

* Before someone chips in and says all 500mw radios should be the same, they are not!

Can these be used with headphones and a speaker so it can be used as cheap intercom?

You'd be better looking at rider to pillion intercoms. Some of those are £50 or less.

The kit S and I have is Autocom, with Kenwood radios. It is not cheap! But it is very versatile. I can plug in music, satnav and telephone and still converse with a pillion.

A cheaper option is a Cobra radio with a helmet headset and press-to-talk button. If you go down this route then make sure you get a headset with two speakers - much clearer.

Or you can track down the Autocom stuff on ebay. Just make sure it has the later seven-pin plugs for compatibility with the latest stuff.

Got a landing date for the Fazer yet?
