£39k? They seem to hold value better than the 996 which seems strange.

They hold their money better because there are less of them, traditional air-cooled etc but 39k looks a little rich i think..some indies have similar cars offered at 42...

these are very difficult cars to sell sir. its an expensive complicated engine, a lot to go wrong. i'd be taking quite a gamble buying it. its also a shame about the colour, its really not moving this year. pretty high mileage too. what were you looking for it sir? full service history? out of fashion these days too...

Quick look on Autotrader/Pistonheads shows prices from £35K to £42K for lower mileage examples - 911 Sport has a 1997(87kmiles) at £43K?.

I think as i first stated - £39k, i would be suprised if you get a 96 with under 60k miles for £35k.

I think £35k is there abouts, obviously colour is important, particularly interior (non garish). Service history is key as it will have needed something more than oil & filters over the 55k miles....if not you could soon possibly face a bill of £5-10k to get one of these running at the top of it's game.

So go with £35k, but suspect dealer would be £32-37K around that based on condition, at £35k choice, you have to be a buyer rather than a seller as they are simply not making these air cooled masterpieces anymore!

Im suprised to hear you asking this question Kayc? I wouldnt have thought you to care about what bids a dealer may offer on a car? You know more than anyone on this site that they rip you off both ways so why listen?

Agreed.
Not sure why you would go through a dealer if you wanted to shift it. Get it on the classified here and watch the enquiries roll in.

Maybe he wants to know the approx dealer bid, so he can better it slightly and win a car privately?

Apologies - Just re-read your thread KayC and noted the "Dealer Bid", i didnt realise you/someone was selling. I would put dealer bid at £33k although i have noted that OPCs do not seem to stock older 996's never mind 993s so maybe your old friend Henry could give you a better idea on what Indys may offer.

Thats what i presume but i was thinking more along the lines with the fact that Kayc has a distaste for most car traders so why would he want to use there expertise.

I was being sarky in short, im bored!

Are you thinking of swapping the 996 or adding to the fleet?
