The PAYE section of the Revenue is in meltdown at the moment as they have issued:

200,000 incorrect late filing penalty notices in error

Thousands of incorrect Notices of Coding for 2007/08 regarding the taxable benefit from the use of a company supplied van.

As a result, all their helplines are under severe pressure at the moment.

I would write to your tax office asking why you are on emergency.

Ah I see, thanks Eric Mc

When I took my 2nd job, I gave my employer my primary tax code and she waffled something about it and said she would put me on emergency tax confused (I think shes just gash, I havent had a pay slip since January)

If this is your second job and your other job is your "main" job, then it is almost definitely correct that the second job should be taxed in full. The proper coding you should have on your payslip from your second job is "BR" for "Basic Rate".

You are entitled, under law, to a monthly/weekly payslip from your employer.

Don't forget that, in a few weeks time, both your employers should be issuing you with P60s covering your two employments for the year ended 5 April 2007.

An employer has a legal obligation to give you a P60 for 2006/07 by 5 July 2007.

There are no codes or anything on my 2nd wage slip, its a crappy hand written thing on a basic template..

Would you be able to work out if the tax is correct from the deductions with my other tax code?
I'm terrible with this kind of thing but I dont want them to diddle me out of pennies, Ive only just negotiated the hygienist advised hourly rate and only get 14p a mile petrol money...

Many many thanks

Why not e-mail me on my profile and let me see some figures?

What would be interesting would be to see your salary details from your main job for February 2007 and your salary details for the 2nd job for February 2007.

If you use my e-mail profile, I can let you have my proper e-mail address and you could then send me a scanned in copy of these payslips - on the assumption you have access to a scanner.
