I can't see why it would be illegal, but you might be asking for a pull by the police unless you have a good reason, such as lack of windscreen.

I wear one in my Vortx as the car has no windscreen. Nothing was mentioned about me wearing the helmet when I was pulled over for speeding

So the consensus is it is not illegal but might arouse suspicion from BIB, and more likely to get you a tug. (Oi stop smirking at the back.)

Fffnar.

But yes, it's not illegal, although it won't look good if you had an accident / caught speeding...kinda signals intent to drive at a brisk pace, does it not?

There was a thread on this a while back in here. Was not illeagal, many peeps do it. It depends on the weather for me... rain hurts at 59.009 mph, and plays havoc with my glasses.

They do tend to leave the country dressed that way after committing certain offences though.

You do not know that for sure .. especially in the Britain which Bliar has created in his desire to tug forelock to Dumbya.

Those wearing that garment are not following their religion but really making a political gesture - which fall flat in a Western culture. I have many Muslim friends.. they do not want to wear that garment und choose head scarves to match outfits.

I would bet it would soon be illegal to wear the veil or a helmet in car if pinged driver cannot recall who drive as all in car dress that way.. und photo would not be very conclusive on that basis

Very well, served me nicely over the winter for top down night-time bombing runs!

When competing on multi-venue stage events, we always have to remove helmets for the road sections.

I always assumed that this was due to it being illegal to wear a helmet inside a car, happy to have been corrected by this thread however.

Absolutely.
This seriously worries me.
Forget about the implied religious "freedom" that these women claim to be exercising.
In reality of course visually it is exactly the same as a masked robber; it guarantees total visual anonimity.
If one is as innocent as the average Muslim woman claims, why is this anonimity necessary?
Why would it NOT concern a police officer as much as a driver in a helmet?
Ask yourself this: how many cases are there of car drivers wearing helmets and breaking the law or getting up to no good?
Then ask yourself how many cases there are of individuals that appear to be Muslim women getting up to extreme mischief.

Note to self... don't make jokes on this forum. The reason is that whilst the burkha is a religious article (similar to a turban) a motorcylce helmet is not. There would be no real reason for anyone (outside a track) in an enclosed vehicle to wear a helmet. To continually tagret random muslim woman and demand the removal of the religious article would be very hard to justify unless there was information regarding an incident having just occurred. On a day to day policing standpoint I would find a person wearing a religous garment less suspicious than a person driving a 3 series bmw in a racing helmet even more so if there were 4 of them in the car.

Also point of education. The burkha is not about anonimity it links in to stop men from seeing there faces so that temptation I believe is not there for the men. Its an open debate amongst muslim woman as to whom wears it and who does not depending on how your beliefs are. I would say at the moment I'm aware of only a few incidents of men dressed in burkhas but am aware at this time of more incidents of armed robberies in motorcycle helmets (its why banks etc ask for there removal!)

We live in a multi-cultural society and we need to remember a very very small percentage of muslims are involved in terrorism the same was only a very very small percentage of Irish people were. As soon as we let terror start drastically changing this country of ours then they have won.

Reality is I haven't seen either persons driving a vehicle in the past 12 years.
