Strictly speaking the first game I played was one of those handheld Binatone things with pong, tennis etc - all looked the same.

But the electron was my first computer too. Got it when I was 3 or 4 - can't remember. Fortunate my dad bought one for me even though he can't use a computer.
He figured it would help me learn, so the first game I got was Mr Men Had all the classics, chuckie egg, repton etc.

Didn't go down the C64/Speccy route. I got an Amiga in about 91/92 maybe? Then came Lemmings, Lotus Turbo Challenge (1, 2 and 3). Mainly driving games and a few flight sims.

Got a 486DX266 in 94ish running Win3.1 with free upgrade to 95 on launch. That was good - I learned everything I know about PCs and software now after many nights screaming at the PC because of experimenting and user error. One time drivespace crashed half way through and had to rebuild from an MSDos boot disk! I was proud
The motherboard failed within warranty. So Gateway upgraded it to a P75, which I later had MMX overdriven to 180 and added in a 3DFX card (remember those?!)
An AMD 850 replaced that, running WinME in 2000.
That was replaced with a custom build AMD64 3400 in 2005 which I'm still using now. Needs a rebuild!

Had a plethora of laptops over the years too. Currently a very slow K series Vaio.
Also picked up a BBC Model B and a BBC Master with loads of software - currently in parents' loft. As well as an old HP green touch screen device my old school was throwing away - never got it working properly though.

Games consoles - started with a Master System 2 in 1994 I think. Sold that because it was boring compared to the PC games.
Got a PS2 in 2001 and the PS3 last friday!
Ah such fun!

I'm going to have to do some research in my loft to do this properly, but here goes.

First game played on my own system: Gulp! on the ZX81.

Went down the path of Spectrum 48k, +2.
Any number of games on the University Sequent Symmetry machine (or telnetting into other machines). Examples: lpMud, Empire and for the graphically adventurous, XPilot.
Back Atari ST, Atari Falcon, Atari Jaguar.
A couple of Gameboys of different types.
Finally bought a PC (486, ran Linux... so same as the uni machine really). Continual succession of PCs.
Eventually PS, Saturn, PS2, XBox and finally Wii.

i've still got my original 16 bit Megadrive in the loft somewhere!
that was the first console i remember having and the first game i played was the original Sonic platform. used to spend hours in front of the thing!
i was then given a PS1, Tomb Raider was the first game i played on that and my favourite game on it has to be the original grand theft auto. i still remember the first time i played it, a truly groundbreaking game IMO. (i liked GTA2 quite a bit too!)
my playstation eventually broke and i waited ages to get hold of a PS2, which i still have now. the first game i played on that was GTA3, theres been so many great titles come out over the years , its hard for me to pick a favourite one but for sheer gaming enjoyment Vice City or The Warriors are pretty hard to beat IMO! (you can probably tell i've got a thing for the GTA games!)
the only new things i've needed for my PS2 are 3 handsets and a handset cable extension.
i can't quite justify a PS3 yet, so my PS2 will have to do me for a little while yet!
