Mannings or A-Plan

Both have given me very good quotes but I'm torn between the 2.

Mannings offer TVRCC Track day cover, £500 excess with a £750 Trackday excess on top, £100 screen excess and £65 Euro Breakdown cover.

A-Plan are a little cheaper than Mannings (£37.50) but also have a £50 windscreen excess. They also give me 1000 extra miles but no trackday cover.

Both have DOC cover.

Is the AA parts warranty thing available without their breakdown cover? I had a feeling it wasn't...?

Any experience with either company?

Mines with Mannings, have had no problems so not tested them though!

Seem like nice people, you'll get a discount if you are in the TVRCC

A plan have been fine.

I had a claim which they started, but the third party took over.

They put me through "Groupama" & I also got a free 90 day green card.

Regards AA, yes you need to be a member as far as I know. And A car less than ten years old.

That warranty was excellent for me, especially when it used to be a grand max claim, now £500

I'm with Mannings, which is actually through Allianz Cornhill. They couldn't have been more helpful as I chased around trying to get a new windscreen. As I went with a different fitter (PH recommended) than their usual ones I had to pay up front, but the cheque came within a few days of sending off the claim.

Will give Hagerty a ring. "Got their number?" laugh

Admiral have just lost my repeat custom after jacking the premium up by £300 for some bizarre reason and I'm fed up with being on hold for 20 mins and then to be requested (in the best Banglish accent possible) to phone the renewals line...... Grrrr

I'm with A-Plan and through them actually insured with Marker Study. They came and assessed the vandalism on my car he gave the go ahead over the phone after agreeing a contribution. No problem so I sent the car all the way from Aberdeenshire to Austec to get a respray. Then the day the work was due to start they halted it as they are rethinking it in conjuction with there underwriters. Thats been almost 2 weeks now and I cannot get any response out of them yet as to what there intentions are etc. Spoke to A-Plan who are also chasing them and can also not get an answer.
So take what you will from that but currently not best pleased with either of them as it should not be taking so long to sort my claim out. I also have a nasty suspicion that they are going to demand a bigger contribution out of me as well.

having had experience of Mannings,i could only recommend A-plan,i'm afraid. The test of a good insurer comes when you want them to pay up,and how long they can make you wait!!furious

I thought I read on PH a while back that alot of the "modded" cars go through "Marker Study" and from what I remember reading they weren't to quick at sorting out the cheque when push came to shove.
It made me stay with Mannings, also A plan were more expensive when I wanted the Cerb for business use as well, something which A plan couldn't seem to get to grips with for some reason.

Neither.
Sunninghill have been excellent for me over 5 years and at each renewal I checked around but ended up staying with them.
They do the best trackday cover which is crucial for me.
Haven't tried to claim though so can't comment on that aspect.

Arrghhhh you lot are no help. laugh

Only kidding, cheers for the pointers and I will give those 2 a try tomorrow.

tbh I'm already happy with the quotes I have but if I can better them, that would be great.

Classicline have done mine for 390 and this will attract NCB which is unusual for this type of policy.
