Looking around at the deals ready for the house move, is 4MB broadband OK for Live?

I used to used 1MB on the old Xbox but I guess things have moved on!

What do other PH'ers use and with what results?

Same here - and I previously never had any problems when using Live on my original Xbox with 512 and then 1 meg connections.

512 should be fine unless you're hosting.

I host seriously busy games with lots of voice with 4Mb. It's fine.

I have 1MB but have never had any problems with XBOX Live, plus I was Using the line on the other computer at the same time.

Thanks

Should be up and running a few weeks, what are PH'ers playing at the moment? I've got Test Drive, Table Tennis and Crackdown.

Then of course we have Forza 2 in May....

Will work fine over a 1MB connection, the issues you have are if you host a game with more than about 4 other people.

If you're hosting a game then it's your upstream bandwidth that becomes a problem. Most connections up to 8Meg have 500k upload, but you need more like 1MB upload to host large groups of people. The only way you can do that is with something like BeThere ADSL2+ where you get up to 24MB download and 1.5MB upload (I get about 16MB download and 1.3MB upload on my connection)
