Dim dip wiring

On cars with Dim/Dip headlights what creates the lower voltage feed to the main headlight dip beam when running on side lights.
Anybody got a wiring diagram ?

Always thought it was the resistors fixed to the chassis near the p/steering pump but on checking (a 3rd time) these are connected to the dimmer switch for the dash lights.

A dim dip relay, normally found somewhere up with the fuses under the glovebox area. I've had 3 fail on me in 2 different cars, where either no lights or lights on all the time causing battery to discharge.

I have a couple of spares somewhere if you want to try them to fix a fault, mine are black boxes about 3 x 2 inches with cooling fins on them

Related to lights

Left side light pod lost it's upper left dowel or bolt or whatever it is that acts as a hinge, so now the light pod tilts up at the front when retracted. Where do I get hold of one and how is it fixed?

Do you have a wedge 'bible'? There is a lot of information in there, with drawings. And a search on the forum will come up with more stuff.

New bolt needed, they should be lock tied with wire as well, probably a 10 mm bolt if memory serves me correct

Watch it as with one bolt the pod could twist and scratch either the bodywork or pod when raising or lowering

As GSX says it is just a 10mm bolt that goes into a captive nut on the inner moulding. There should be a spacer between the pod & the body on each side to prevent scratching. A tap washer makes an ideal replacement & yes drill a hole in the bolt before you fit it & wire it in to stop it happening again.

So I remove the lamp from the pod first, get a bolt in and it self taps into the bodywork? Do I drill through the thread at the lower end of the bolt to fit the wire?
