TomTom-Quality of full Europe map v Regional
Discussion
I am currently looking to upgrade my UK regional TT1 to have the full Western Europe maps but........
If you compare the size of all of the regional maps (just under 4Gb) against the size of the full European map, you should need a card larger than 1Gb to hold all of the data
So my question is, does anyone know if the difference is due to a lower quality of mapping or just repeated TT software boosting the size of the regional ones?
Thanks
Steve
Well...........
I had to make the upgrade as it was a necessity, so in the absence of any other replies I just thought I would answer my own question in case anyone else is curious.
The simple answer is that the quality of the maps (at least for France and Belgium) are superb.
The instructions were also very accurate – particularly relating to which lane to stay in etc, and took me door to door to several places.
So, all in all a worthwhile upgrade and I can only assume that the additional memory space required for the individual European maps is due to the ‘base’ software required.
Cheers
