just had the tune up for the headers and the difference is very nice!

Power is now much more available. Silly even, its actually now deceptively quick (is that possible to say for the ro?) - my normal motorway speed of 70 to 80 is now seemingly hard to keep to as the power just rolls on without being able to tell! OK it isnt a supercharged effect with 500bhp but the increase over the previous exhaust/remap is very noticable.

Yep they do...

Speak to Greens/Monkfish et al as they often have a set from guys who have moved onto AP's.

Also try the ceramic pads (I think) Monkfish have they are supposed to be really good. The VXR Brakes + these pads are a mod and improvement for those cannot yet afford AP's.

well I won them last night so need to sort out payment/collection some point this week.

There is an interesting thread about the poly bushes and steering geom at the minute... I noticed last night just how vauge teh front end does really feel. ITs great onec turned in but seems so vauge beforehand.

I've heard (maddog) that poly bushes make for a very jittery ride - anyone confirm or deny that for the Monaro?

I can deny!

If you replaced all the bushes, then it will be quite firm, certainly more noise transmission, probably wouldn't describe as jittery though.

However, i would not normally recommend fitting all the bushes. Changing carefully selected bushes, sometimes combined with other mods can and do improve the car.

Using poly bushes sensibly can alter certain characteristics, ie, as discussed elsewhere, turn in response. The mod for this certainly does not make the car jittery.

so can I.

changed the front drag strut bushes and realignment of geometry by the Monkfish crew and can notice a significant improvement pariculaily in a straight line.

funnily on the way home last night i did the motorway weave. Waggle the wheel left to right and the car just went straight, no mention of steering input.

Clearly a silly thing to do but I do it anyway, with the changes you mentioned does this really improve things?

Yes! It doesn't become a 996, but it is certainly better.

would it be as good as my smart car? Its a good way to wake the missus up.

I had been thinking about getting the suspension upgraded to improve things but in the end got brakes instead as I figured it would be a better option. The bushes upgrade does sound good though if it removes the vauge feeling from the steering, even by 1%
