No you don't, but catch a bumble bee or a bird and you will know all about it.
Out and about enjoying the day you would not want the helmet but if travelling any distance the helmet will be both safer and more comfortable. If you rig the helmet with intercom you can listen to some music or take hands free calls.

Don't forget to keep your mouth shut. I swollowed a fly once at 50mph and that mother nearly came out the back of my neck. I'm a biker too and frankly I find it more enjoyable driving a car with no helmet and a fly screen than being squashed in a helmet on a nice day but then if you crash without a helmet you may regret it. Cheers Stig
I really must fit an aeroscreen :-) Been driving round with protective glasses only so far. Helmet is not required at all from a legal perspective but I find that anything above 65mph and my cheeks start to flap about painfully.
If you are going to be following cars at speed, then a helmet is essential. The roads are very empty around here (Ipswich) though.

I bought a nice MK Double Bubble aeroscreen for my Tiger - it's a shaped GRP item that sits on the scuttle and is held on by a few rivets, very easy to fit. No idea if it would fit onto a Fury though.
