Nearly had a whoopsy!!!
Discussion
Driving home last night with my 13 year old daughter beside me.
Just completed a safe (and almost totally legal) overtaking procedure when a chap in a VW Passat estate TDi decided to perform a three point turn at the end of the straight I was approaching, no problem there plenty of room.
I had two choices tuck in behind him or blast past, I tucked.
He then drove down the road at 35mph (60 limit, and safe at that) and put his hazard warning indicators on.
We had the roof down and could smell diesel. Turns out his car was pissing diesel onto the road, now I didn't get close enough when he was moving to see from where as I hung back once I realised.
We were negotiating a sweeping left hander at the ripe old speed of 37mph when the back end of our car tried to swap with the front end, normally no biggee but when the road is fairly narrow (and slippery as F@#K) and a large fixed bed truck is already filling his side it becomes decidedly tight.
Not to put too fine a point on it I nearly shat myself, what a wa@#er taking a car out on the road with the full knowledge it has a major defect.
Pulled up beside him (he was turning into a private estate) and explained my displeasure at his antics and it seems he wanted to beging relations of some sort, at least he said C'mere!!!
God help the poor bugger who doesn't know and comes round the corner at a perfectly legal and normally safe 60mph, Wa@#ers!!

Can u imagine if EZY had had an accident due to the diesel spill.
Press would have had a field day.
IRRESPONSIBLE PORSCHE MOTORIST CRASHES WITH HIS DAUGHTER IN THE CAR !
EZY i know how you feel.
About a month ago i hit a patch of diesel going round a corner at 20 miles an hour and nearly hit a parked car.
Missed it by 2 inches max.Not a nice moment.
Not sure if it was the PSM that saved me or my schumi reflexes !

if anyone ever sees a diesel spillage they should tell the Police immediately. They are actually very good about it and when I have reported it have treated it as an emergency. Fortunately they understand that if you hit it on a bike you're a gonner. Lot's of coppers ride bikes so not surprising they take it seriously, good thing too.
Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback/Support.
My daughter phoned 999 immediately after my pleasant exchange with the ingrate.
It took me almost 4 hours of trying to get through to our local PSNI station. The duty officer took the Reg. and vehicle details, just in case there was/is an accident.
I can't claim to be a biker any longer, and some might argue I never was (Honda SS50 & MTX125 riden approx 20 years ago) but I remember sliding across a corner (diesel spill from a bus), with the bike (and me!) on its side and when I hit the kerb the bike righted itself. Can't claim any of the credit for this feat as if I remember correctly I was scared rigid, didn't even have time to put the old brown trousers on. I also had a run in with a Pakistani gentleman in a Yellow Cortina when he pulled out in front (headlight was on too!) of me and I went over the bonnet, no harm done to the bike or me (pretty much) but I was so embarrased I more or less apologised and rode off, can you imagine the circumstances if it happened today I could probably get away without working for a year or two!! Suffice to say the nearest I get to biking these days is on a Sunday on my trusty Montesa 4RT.
Have to agree with the post regarding the press not to mention the police report, what really scares me (still) is the thought of sliding side on into an oncoming lorry at about a combined speed of 80 mph.
