Was there an "official" optional extras list for the chimaera when buying from new and if so does anyone know where to find out?

Yes, there was and IIRC it was printed on the dealers brochures.
So speak to some dealers to see if they still have one.

Mine's a '98 400 and had options of Griffith wheels, wool carpets and power steering (in addition to gold coloured badges and pearl paint, as previously listed).

heated seats: £100 (I think it was)

edited to add:

how wrong was I! Here's what's listed in my copy of the April 1998 brochure for a Chimaera (the Griff had the same options):

metallic paint: £335
starmist paint: £440
pearlescent paint: £670
full hide trim: £1980
wool carpet: £300
heated seats: £210
aircon: £1930
power steering: £980
hydratrak: £425
remote window closing: £110
sports suspension: £1000

as previously mentioned, you could have no ashtrays and no lighter too (though it's a useful charge point). Then there were the various ICE options too with different head units and speaker combinations.
