ditto, fantastic, cheers. Never left til 4pm, thought I was only going to make it until 10am as took my 4 year old, but we all loved it. Great day and must say my first ever time at a track to watch cars (and I live so close), how bad is that as normally only watch the two wheeled stuff.
Cheers, again.
(see I kept it civil in the carpark too. well nearly)

Yep great day, shame about B055 and Shane going early from Bluewater and leaving me to find someone stupid enough to lead the convoy. All worked out ok in the end apart from me having a few words with a marshal in the car park who was a total t
t!
Good to meet a few of you again, had a long chat with wells_fan who must be completely bonkers the distances he drives to these things
Finally got to see the VXR8 in the flesh and sadly my initial thoughts as to how it looks seemed to have been accurate and I will not be putting my name down for one.
Well done B055 and thanks for the loan of the Autotap.
Oh, and finally - You have to tell me where to get that guard dog from!

Yup cheers guys for the tickets and laughing at those of us who couldn't find which top level carpark we were meant to be in at Bluewater (would love to know just how many were laughing at our expense)...
Anyhoo, around 1,100 miles travelled since friday evening so far and another 200-odd until I get home to my bed...another great day out at Brands, even more so with me bringing the 'ro with me instead of a fly-drive Punto hirecar like usual to the BTCC events

I've fired a whack of pics up from the meet/btcc side of things at the following link

As always Chris....much appreciated mate.
We left Druids just after the final Touring Cars round and believe it or not didnt get home until almost 12:30....DONT ASK!!!
If anyone else was stuck on the Northbound A2 heading towards the Blackwall Tunnel, then you will know why it took us roughly 6 hours to get home. Bloody nightmare.

Good little lanes aren't they?
All the way to the tunnel we couldn't have seen more than a couple of dozen cars! Many thanks again Chris/Shane/Vauxhall
Best one yet, ANNND We got to give the new switchable a run through some of the tunnels on the M25
, upsetting most of the Astra lads with their new milteks
. 4 Monaros in various guises certainly makes for a loud noise, those tunnels will have be resonating for hours.

I'd have to disagree on the "Best one yet..." bit.
If I was Vauxhall I would be a bit disappointed, I thought (maybe wrongly) that the idea of gathering lots of VXRs etc together was for a bit of advertisment/marketing etc. The fact that we were in one section of a carpark really didn't show off the gathering. If you compare it to Silverstone where we were right behind one of the stands then it was pretty crap. Seat had their stand right in the middle of the track and the general public could have a good look round whereas Vauxhall were outside and you had to get a stupid wristband to even go and see them.
Sorry, ranting over!!
From a watching races point of view it was far better than Silverstone as you can see much more of the track from any given point. Some pretty good races out there yesterday too.
The parking problem was not down to us or Vauxhall, it was what Brands Hatch gave us, there was nothing we could do about it.
Then to compund the problem, the marshalls were being very "Jobsworth" and decided that our carpark was full and decided to redirect everyone to "general parking"
Finally, when we were trying to arrange the cars to make a show of it, we got a bollo'in for taking time to park the cars and causing a log jam.
Our normal spot would have been "Yellow" but this was squatted in by the TV crews.
Rest assured that the parking at Rockingham will be much better as we have a dedicated area, just for the VXR National Meet and the parking area is extensive. (Those of you that have been there will know how big their parking area is.)
