Im looking at getting some new shocks for the cerb, i was toying with the idea of Gaz Gold shocks but was wondering what others thought in regards to shock choice, also some rough prices would be good if you have any.
I look forward to your valued comments.
Thanks

Got AVO's on mine, seem to do the trick, Leven Tech believe they are a sensible replacement for the orginals a good balance between performance and price. Up to the job for how the majority of us drive on the road. I guess the track chaps and chappatties may have different views.

I know JensenA has Gaz Golds on his and he loves them. I know this as they were fitted to my car before he sold it and now they are on his new one

I'm back to standard shocks, which I plan to upgrade in the future.

i use to have spax racing suspension on my car...Andy from APM fittied GAZ SHOCK..for the money they are phenomenal...highly recommended....at certain seeting i would be hard pussed to see if u good tell the difference between them and more higher priced shocks...
but they depend on your driving ability ...and certainly if u have the same ability as stig in topgear (most people dont) then maybe there not good enough

Essentially - for those (like me) who are road bound - what is the 'real' driving difference between the golds and the nickels? I ask because I have booked the 450 Chim in for Gaz nickels...using the logic that I simply wouldn't get the extra £120.00 worth of value from the golds. I guess it's really a question for anyone who has gone from nickel to gold?

The gold are an alloy bodied shock lighter in weight, i head a few stories of the steel body shocks getting still and difficult to adjust.
Well i have heard good reports on the GAZ shocks so booked it in this morning ready for the summer weather.

Don't know about Gaz Golds, but I have single adjustable Gaz shocks, (apparently double are damping and rebound adjustable) with appropriate rated springs fitted by APM, very pleased with them, Cerb is much more stable at high speed, but now I live out in the country find car does dart about a bit on rutted roads, maybe need to soften them of a few clicks.

Softening the shocks a bit may help but maybe Andy could help you with a different geometry set-up.

Well I had my shocks fitted, on the Wednesday before heading off to the Nurburgring and I can tell you that the car feels soo much better than it did before on standard shocks. It was a real pleasure to drive, (no more playing 'dodge the bump in the road') and it now handles as well as it goes.
So they get a big thumbup from me

Thinking of which, you thinking about venturing South some time Mark (Tracey) to enjoy Brands again?
