seat adjustment
Discussion
As a big fella (6'4"+) I find it somewhat snug in my 996.
To be honest this doesn't bother me too much and the only
problem is I could do with sitting a little bit lower. Now
obviously I have the seat as far back as poss and as low as
poss and the steering wheel is better nearer to me. However
I cannot pass my hand between the wheel and my knee on the lower
left and right side of the wheel. I have sports seats and have
been told that it may be possible to move or adjust the runner.
I thought about GT3 seats as they appear thinner but also narrower
and I'm not built like Posh spice. Any suggestions (excuding leg amputation).
Unfortunately the runner isn't adjustable, we have reduced the thickness of the foam in the seats for a few taller customers which gives a small increase in space - no feedback on loss of comfort either - our local retrimmer does a good job. GT3 style buckets are a lot lower, but as you say, are a tad on the snug side - look great though!
Just read above post - written as i was posting - news to me.........best go check!!!

the gt3 buckets are alot lower but they have no backrest movement and thus the rear seats are rendered useless.
regardless, after sitting in a gt3 bucket, getting into a standard porsche seat even on its lowest setting will feel like sitting on an orange box.
test drove a tt at the weekend with the electric memory seat option. i was surprised how much lower the seat base dropped in comaprison to my C2 - thought it would have been the other way round given the fact that all the motors, i presume, are housed under the seat.

Just normal seats in a 996 and I have the same problem, though am only 6ft tall. Has anyone adjusted the runners for non sports seats ?
