I picked up my first ever TVR on Friday night. I quickly put it back down again as it's heavy!

Seriously... It's amazing. The noise, the feel, the fun. The top has been down the entire time. I've been out playing with a friends 997 911.... she was very upset she couldn't lose it! So far: 1 full tank of go-go juice. Some ideas about what to do to the interior. (Thinking Leven less is more here). A really good hoover, clean, clay bar, wax, and hoon!

Let's see if I can do the picture thing...(as you've never seen one before!)

16's I believe. New s03's, and of course the 5 stud hubs. AP fronts, and Tamora rears. Add to that the Nitrons, and it really works well. Very impressed!

Looks nice.... cry

If it were me, I'd:

1) Get a leven heater dial, as the plastic one is awful
2) Get some Chimaera embroided overmats (can't remember the company but someone will no dounbt provide a link and they're fab)
3) Consider more supportive seats. I was toying with fitting the Cerb seats to match the last Griffs. Available from breakers on an exchange basis.

Then consider the Leven wipers/heater vents if you must

Don't worry all... Stainless dash is in the garage already. Leven heater knob is a must. (Along with ~£300 of Leven stuff! Cover, battery conditioner etc). Mats etc a possibility.... seats - do the Cerbera seats sit any lower at all?

Other thing I want to sort out - mirrors. Not quite there...

I think they may actually be a tad higher, but they do look nice
In all seriousness, a good clean will have the current ones looking as good as new.
They've only been used for 27k miles after all (though admittedly some of that was under the pressure of my fat ass )

You mean that you have one of the best and classiest colour combos ever made, dark green with cream leather and walnut dash ... and you're going to stick a stainless steel one in?

Please, think VERY hard and look at a lot of stainless dash pictures with your colour combo first yes

Even ask if someone can photoshop it for you first. You will lose all the contrast between your cream dash bolster, cream dials and steel dash.

(I hate myself sometimes), but I've been looking at it, and I'm starting to wonder if you're right.
It is timeless, classical, and somehow fits.... But to upgrade the heater knob would be nice, I think. Also thinking that less would be more, so not changing the ashtrays, vent surrounds, etc etc etc. Switch buttons are a possibility though.

One question for all though... currently the lower dash already has stainless on it. What do you reckon - switch back to wood?

ooh hell, you're right! I thought something looked odd ... yes, I would be tempted to change back to walnut when you get chance.

Nothing wrong with the leven stalks and handbrake cover and switches, though i would stay away from the windscreen vent surrounds (they reflect on the glass!). I was going to get some bits and pieces for mine, but after living with it for a week or so I decided that as my dials and leather were black, I quite liked the black stalks. I will do the handbrake though when i get around to it.

The thing that I want to do with my dash is change the walnut veneer to the black/grey ash veneer that some of the newer Jags had as I think that would match in with the dials very nicely whilst keeping the lovely wood veneer. No-one seems to know where I can get it from though.

And just for sounding out the waters... carbon fibre would look terrible, wouldn't it? I just can't shake the thought out of my head about it... but it would look rubbish, I'm sure.

Anyone know how much a replacement wood dash kit is for one of these?

You either love 'em or hate 'em. My view is that they only go with certain colour schemes ... blacks, silvers, and blue maybe.

In the end it's your car Don so go with whatever you like the look of. Might be an idea if someone could maybe photoshop a carbon fibre dash onto your car. There is no shortage of people with the skill and certainly no shortage of ref material for the carbon dash.
