I know that OPC's generally get frowned upon here so I thought I would share this with you.

At the weekend I noticed a small oil patch on the garage floor after my 996 C4S had spent the week in there so thought that I had better get it checked out.

Called Sutton Coldfield OPC at 8.30 and asked if I could drop the car down at lunch time so they could have a look. Visited the centre at lunch time and they promptly took the car around to the workshop. Lisa invited me to go and show the technician (mechanic) where I had seen the leak underneath the car. The service Manager was invited over and I was advised that the RMS had gone (thank god I renewed the warrenty last week!) and would need replacing. I advised them that I was off to Germany on Friday so would it be possible to fix asap. I went back to the service reception with Lisa and she advised that she could loan me a Boxster S now and I could pick my car up again Tuesday afternoon!

Thats what I call fantastic customer service. I have used Sutton OPC for the last three years and apart from a stupid offer when I tried to PX my Boxster S they have been great.

Have you had the call yet? The one which starts.....

'Excuse me sir, whilst your clutch was out we noticed it was worn, it will need replacing. We will charge you for the part but not the labour'

Funny you should say that!

My car has done 31000 miles should I expect it to need doing?

It's possible, my clutch was replaced at 22k, they gave me the line I've just used. Whether it needed doing I don't know?

Let's see what happens next

Those brake discs will need replacing too. Looks like you've been using them to slow the car down...nono

I'd just bought a TT from them, it took them three days to fix a door handle...let alone the week to fit me in.
No offer of a loan car either.
I must be going about it the wrong way...

Quick up date for you.

received a call to confirm car ready for collection and that they do not recommend that any further work is required.

I stand by my original comments that Sutton OPC are pretty good.

PS I do not work for them!

I had my RMS done at the last service. As the car had covered 50k I instructed them to replace the clutch. To my surprise, upon inspection they declined to do so on the basis that the original unit was in perfect working order and they felt it would be a waste of money. Yep you heard it here first - OPC in customer bill saving shocker!
