I'm taking my Espada to the factory via Monaco on the Furball 5000 Alpine Tour this year to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. 3000 miles in 8 days, much of it roaring round the Alps and Dolomites.
Can't wait and will have the video cameras rolling. bounce

Ahh that brings back memories of traveling to the Birmingham motor show on trade day with my brother, sitting on his girlfriends lap on the back seat, with my head hanging out of the window @ about 140!!! (I was about 10!)
Sounds great!

cool Cool!

A "warning memory" for me is that the first Espada I saw (the day I got smitten) was written off and my uncle nearly killed when it went off the side of a mountain in the Alps. eek Mine's having its brakes upgraded before I go....

O/T Dell: What's that track on your web site's home page?

It was 1973 - Gregory pulled up at our house in his boss's brand new LHD Espada and I was smitten. Such a different car to the usual Bentleys/Rollers he drove and brought round to show us. Never saw the car again and the next time my mother and stepfather saw Gregory he was in hospital with tubes all over him and plugged into machines.

Having now driven Shadows of 70s vintage myself I can kind of imagine what a quantum leap the Espada must have felt like in '73. My Espada never feels out of its depth in modern traffic and will cruise at three-figure speeds all day long (remember it's from an era when most cars could barely reach 100mph).

An Espada must have felt other-worldly and blisteringly fast after wafting about in Rollers. I've found the brakes will stand about 30 minutes of "qualifying pace" round the twisties (development purposes yeronner) before the pedal softens suddenly.

There's no shortage of braking power (two bloody great servos on a Series III) but the brakes lack stamina. Keeping the fluid cool and braiding the flexi hoses ought to lift the fade threshold. If that doesn't work before I leave for Yerp, a caliper upgrade may be required.

I'll have a word with the DJ concerned and get a copy for you!!
Not sure of the best way to mail it?! We normally send tracks to each other via MSN?!
as for the Espada, My older brothers had 2 series 3s a blue one and a gold one! I remember sitting in the drivers sea amazed at all the dials on the dash!! when they had the second one was a bit older, i remeber following it (Ridding my moped!) I can still hear the noise now (they used to have the tailpipes "Modified!" to a straight through design!!)
Oh happy days!!!!!

Phil,

DELL got it slightly wrong - I know because it's one of my favourite Tunes!

It's is on I-Tunes - the TRACK is called "The Cure and The Cause" and the ARTIST is called "Fish Go Deep"

Thanks chaps. Should have guessed it would be on the Defected label. Another fave of mine is Hanna Hais' "(Je ne veux plus être) Ta reine", also on Defected.

Maybe we should have a Lambo night at your club Dell? Could we line 'em up outside? 70s lothario stylee.... paperbag
