Following Andy's advice, I'm gonna fit the 2ct's at the weekend. I've been quoted £229 fitted and balanced. Does this sound about right?

Cheers.

Sounds OK - I paid £210 for mine last year.

I need a new rear now - front looks OK so I guess it'll be fine, no need to replace both.

I'd be interested in your thoughts - my first ride on 2CT's was amazing, the difference from my old 014's was massive! Transformed the way my K6 GSXR1000 cornered...

Let us know when you've fitted them...

Rob.

I hope I "feel" something. TBH, I've had Diablos on the R6 and I've never felt a big difference from what the bike came on.

my Bridgestone Bt-014's cost me 200 with fitting etc and they are very good tyres. don't last long but give good grip wet or dry

Nick,

I used Diablo Corsa's for many years on all my bikes and now I wouldn't use anything other than the 2CT's.

You will notice the difference straight away as the bike will tip into a corner quicker than the Pirelli but the grip the 2CT's afford is excellent as the tyres warm up quite quickly....you won't regret changing to them.

Let us know what you think once fitted and scrubbed in.

Andy.

And there was me thinking that I'd replace my Corsas with the new Corsa 3 that's just come out. 2CT or Corsa3, 2CT or Corsa3??? It's a tricky one.

TBH there's nothing out there right now that can touch the 2CTs for all round ability. When i pick up my new bike i'm making them change the tyres to 2CTs

Being a numpty here... 2CT? what are those?

PS Hi Matt, might need that tyre bloke as the GSXR will be coming out of the garage now I'm back. I'm running supercorsas back and front, although the rear needs changing soon...

2CTs Refer to the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tyre, it's a dual compound tyre with a hardercompound in the middle that progressivley gets softer towards the edge providing greater grip in the corners and slowing down the onset of squaring off

Another happy 2CT customer here.

They felt fantastic after the original Dunlop Sportmax.

Maybe it wasn't a fair comparison as the Dunlops were very worn but the 2cts manage to feel softer and 'rounder' (ie bike tips in more progressively)

I get good mileage out of mine, roughly 7,000 miles to the front and about 6,000 for the rear that's on an R1.

Hi Kier,

Any time you want tyres give me a bell. I'm still on the same number. Nice to have you back!

Sounds damm good 6k for a R1 rear! I may give these a try next time, I've been on std diablos for ages as they were they only decent sports tyre that I could get over 6k miles out of a rear on a 600. At one point I was running a diablo corsa front and std diablo rear on my gixxer6 and I couldn't fault this combo and I use my bike year round primarily for commuting.

Still interested to know if anyone else also gets that sort of rear tyre mileage out of 2CTs.

Don't want to change your mind as I love my 2CT's but this months issue of Superbike has a track tyre test which includes the 2CT. To cut a long story short, the Diablo Corsa III's and the Dunlop GP Racer look to be superior from their point of view. Obviously this is track only but in the summer with high temps and spirited riding, the test is relevant for the road as well... (kind of!)...

I need to replace my rear so might be tempted to try the Corsa III's - will cost me more though as I'll need a front as well.

Dont' know what to do confused

The 2CT is excellent in the wet according to Superbike so if you ride in all weathers, it's still the choice to go for...

Er, not much more than 1200 miles out of my 2CT rear but that is attached to a GSXR 1000! I also only use my bike for blasting so on the road just rolling along, you should expect a load more.

Do you really believe Superbike journos.......as long as they get something for free they will say it's the dogs danglies.

S2B you know how good 2CT's are as you use them as I do. I would say that unless you are pushing it to the absolute limit on the road a track test of tyres is not really a comparison to road riding as the tyres will never get the abuse or heat into them of track riding on road.

I can vouch for the wet weather grip as I spent almost two days riding through France last year in the wet with the 2CT's. They were in my opinion superior in the wet to the Diablo Corsas I was previously running and using them over the winter in the UK also proved how good they are.
