This has probably been aired before but I can't search PH at the moment. Anyone know where the law stands with regard to the rear seats in a 996 (or any other 911 for that matter) for kids under 135cm? If the law, as is too often the case, insists on being an ass then does anyone know the solution?

I spoke to the porsche about this and they confirmed that The way to check is.....if the label on the back seatbelt itself has E 44.03 or .03 on it then the whole rear seat itself is complient therefore no buster seat is needed. if no label.....then it needs a child seat / booster.

I asked my local cop shop about this and they didn't want to know. they just said the new law dosn't apply to lap belts...however if you read it carefully, i'm sure it does. lucky for me my local police are inept like in HOT FUZZ, and dont know the law?

The law stands. However, I'm not convinced my two are any safer on booster seats. They would appear safer cocooned in the rear buckets.

Also, an interesting Top Gear fact, the Old Bill are not allowed to measure children, that'll be my defence hehe
