I keep thinking that it may be a good idea to insulate the induction pipe and possibly the AFM from the radiated exhaust heat. Being a person that is “careful with his cash” I usually go off the idea when selecting some appropriate aluminised insulation from one of the cataloges. However it occurs to me that it is not a lot different to the heat reflective ironing board covers which are about seven quid,(apparently the ironing board is a piece of equipment that is used in the processes between placing a shirt in the washing basket and it appearing again hanging in the wardrobe)
Just get a roll of self-adhesive aluminium foil tape (from Demon Tweeks or probably DIY stores too) and wrap it round. Tends to be really sticky and works well, less than a tenner for a 50m (?) roll. Rather more convenient than kitchen foil and you'll probably find all sorts of other uses for it too.

As I’ve read on here before, the air rushes through here that quickly when on the power it doesn’t have time to heat up, seams reasonable to me.
Better would be to do the manifolds.

thing is You're not on full power most of the time
So when you're tootling around in traffic it all gets very hot and then when you come to put your foot down you're drawing in 60°C air...
It will cool down if you keep your foot in, but thats a bit difficult to do if you're not on a racetrack
Anything you can do to keep air temps down is always worth doing
