...if so, who to? Basically, I was stuck in traffic on the M25 yesterday, not moving for half an hour. I was in the fast lane (oxy-moron) stationary and there was a truck in the middle lane also not moving. Every now and then motorcyclists would make their way through the queue by slowly riding through the gap. However, the trucker didn't like this for some reason and every time a biker tried to by him he OPENED HIS DOOR causing the bikers to swerve. I took some pictures with my phone, but never managed to time it right so I don't have incriminating evidence. Also, if I'm taking photos in my car with my phone are the cops gonna throw the book at me? I got the number plate, time and location recorded. As an ex-biker myself, albeit many years ago, I was incensed!

No number, unfortunately, otherwise I would have called it.

Report it - that is not on....

On the same note though, my BiL used to work in the haulage industry and ran a couple of distribution centres for a major haulier. They had uproar when they got all of those stickers on the cabs and trailers. But the funny thing was that around 75% of the calls were people actually praising the driver! The remaining 25% were made up of pissed up people (driving - now thats a worry!?!?) and a few misunderstandings. Of the complaints that they actually got, only a couple were justified and those lead to an investigation - one person was fired, but actually all the other drivers actually agreed and it was a relief to have some proof to fire the git.

So phone them up and get it complained about.

Oh, and I phoned National Express once when I had a particularly ignorant driver swerving and blocking traffic. He was reported and asked to explain himself. I got a call back and informed that he had been disciplined and taken off that particular route. Never happened since so not sure if anything was actually done - but made me feel better for a while at least hehe

If you have the name of company and Reg number I'd write an Email or letter to MD (if you can find the info on the web) and I'd pop into a police station and give reg number.

Mate of mine reported a guy who attempted to knock him off his motorbike and when local BIB's did not take it seriously he wrote to Chief Constable asking why if someone is attempting murder (or GBH) with a vehicle as a weapon it was not being taken seriously.

Bib sent biker police to take statement and the bloke was eventually convicted under CCTV evidence of Driving without due care and attention.

And don't settle for flannel over the phone with platitudes like;

'I'll deal with the driver
I'm the transport manager'

Go Via cops, or as high up corporate ladder as poss

In slow moving or stopped traffic, if it is possible, I will always move over for bikers. Will also move left on SC roads to assist them in an overtake. If they are prepared to ride vehicles with a higher mortality rate than cars and put up with rain, etc, then making progress through traffic should be a major compensatory factor for them.
Passengers often ask me why I move over for bikers and say that they don't!

I'm a trucker and I'v reported 3 truck drivers before, But If you get through to the relavant depot, don't be surprised if the transport manager puts the driver in question on the phone to you so that you can tell him to his face (ear).
Stick to your guns, he needs telling.

(Truck driver reporting other truck drivers!, I'd never make a policeman would I?.)

The door thing happens a lot, so does the obvious seen you now I'm closing the gap. Not as frequent as the people who do the opposite so swings and roundabouts.

I just put it down to how frustrated they must be. The only one that really upset me was looking left till I was along side then did quick left/right moves of his steering wheel to try and scare me.

Thought in that situation I would be able to kick the side of the car with my boot, but if I did and something went wrong to unsettle me or my bike while between two cars that would pretty much be game over. So I chickened boxedin

Many years ago on the Oxford A40 by-pass (the bit with bushes on the central-reservation of the dual-carriage) I saw the pillion passenger on a motorbike make the motion of kicking the front wing of a car that had been slow to move over to let the the bike past. The first few times the car driver swerved left out of the way, but the last time he just stayed where he was. The pillion passenger's boot connected with the car and the motorbike swerved right and crahsed along the bushes on the central-reservation.
Should have been a couple of interesting insurance claims. And court case?

There are bikers that act like complete dcensoreds - and I have no sympathy for them. If you want to ride like a tcensoredr then dont expect preferential treatment from car drivers.

I have been on both sides of the coin and make way for bikers where possible. I have been the victim of bad bikers both on my bike and in my car - most recently when a bike ignored the road markings and tried to overtake me on a 3 lane roundabout to come off on an exit that I was going past (I was in lane two). Only that I swerved and came off at that exit at the last minute - he'd have gone straight into the side of me.

He's one piccie - truck's number plate is S9 SDM (personalised to match the company name). You see the beemer in front has pulled over to the right, that's because he was worried that a bike would swerve and hit him - one very nearly did. I can make out the number plate out on the beemer so if the cops can track him/her as a witness then the trucker's stuffed. On this occasion, the trucker did not open his door but he stuck his arm out just as the biker was going past - you can just about see it:
