Well, it's that time of year and my insurance is due so I thought I'd do the web quotes last night and wait for the ones looking for business to call today.

SprintST 1050, 31yo, ok postcode (city), 2 yrs NCB.

I got the expected quote me happy at 2grand and ebike quotes have went up again to more than I paid with them with 0 yrs NCB. Suffice to say I didn't chose either of them.

Other than that most of the quotes had gone down by almost 50% since last year. That doesn't mean they are all good as it still put them more than I paid last year (£491).

The best quotes off the web were... for FC, EU, Legal, Pillion, Other Bikes, low XS, zero voluntary XS

expressinsurance £460
Carol Nash £506
Bennets £399 (or £360 with some voluntary XS)
Aquote £523
insurance2000 £408
performance direct £475
access £465

A couple of them called me back today however only one went closer to getting my pennies.

Roadsure £340

I thought I better call my current company to see what they can do as I hadn't had my renewal yet. They asked what would get me to say yes right now so I cheekily said £250.
After some umming and ahhing they said they couldn't get it that low but how does 291 sound with the same policy details as last year which I was happy with anyway.

So.. M C Edwards £291

Unless I can get better by the end of the day then I'll be sticking with them.

Result I think....

I managed to get a very good deal on insurance for my 1998 GSXR 600 with CIS insurance. Well it was kind of a ‘we will give you this policy to shut you up’ deal but a deal no less.

*22 years old
*Just passed test
*2 years no claims on car
*Third party fire and theft
*Value £2500

£270

Had a big grin when I got that on a quote, but taken me about 1 hour on the phone and a threat to take them to the consumer watch dog to get them to honour it a week down the road. The manager tried to tell me that he could not honour the deal and wanted to charge me £470 oh but little did he know, that I am fellow sales man and know all the tricks Needless to say I wont be taking up a policy with them next year when this one runs out rolleyes

Just spent an hour filling in quotes, H&R came out cheapest... Still bloody expensive at 330 TPFT, but hey, new rider on a sports 600, what could I expect?

They're also very good if you have to claim. I haven't had to but a mate did following a crash in france. They were extremely helpful and sorted things out very quickly even though the dozy cow claimed it was his fault despite simply driving out in front of him from a side road. Got a hire car sorted immediately and the claim was rightly sorted out in his favour very quickly. Also I phoned them up to tell them I had installed a fruity road legal can and they didn't charge me a penny to change the policy.

I pay less than 200 for my blade and will definitely be staying with them next year.

I spent 2 hours ringing around the other night, and in the end even my current insurers said they couldn't beat my best quotes, not even close, and advised me to go with it!

MCE
25yo
2003 Yamaha R1 valued at £4500
3 years NCD
Parked on driveway

£650 FC.

I paid that TPFT last year!!

Went with MC Edwards (mce) in the end. No surprise really. I was happy with them last year and as a result of that they got my car insurance too even though they weren't the cheapest (but I'm not goiong to argue over £10).

H&R are the same as insurance2000 so the quote above was what I got from them. Some of the websites have really poor lists for the alarms.

Good result all round from £1100 to £490 to £291 over the last couple of years. If it keeps going down at this rate they'll be paying me soon
