I don't think it's my PC but I have about 20 VX220 popup's running at once. Every time I try to do something another pop's up. Its Blxxdy irritating! Is there something you can do?

I thought that was just us. Anna was lurking earlier and the browser crashed after 20+ windows opened at the same time. She could reasonably be described as incandescent (not that that takes much) have you been able to establish why there is a problem Ted ?

It doesn't sound like PH causing it, As far as i'm aware Ted hasn't used popups (at least I hope he hasn't!).

Try downloading ad-aware from www.lavasoft.de - it may be that there is software on you PC causing them to popup that is unrelated to PH. Ad-aware will remove this software, and also any spyware or similar rubbish.

He has and it is I am afraid. I have no issue with the pop-up in itself, but it is not doing the computer any good whatsoever.

Sorry guys. I believe I've found the cause of the problem and have just uploaded a fix. If it's still causing you problems please let me know.

As for PH being a popup free zone, some of you will have seen the previous discussion on this. For commercial reasons I decided to accept the VX220 campaign.

The technical difficulties experienced have been due to a problem with my code that attempts to limit the popup to one showing per person. (Sound has also been disabled by default as I knew that would irritate many).

If you're still getting multiple popups then please shout - I'll stay up for another half hour to monitor the situation.

Please let's not get into any debates about the merits of popups. It's a done deal.

I've not had any popups. Which page is it on? Not running any ad blockers either.

Ted - not entirely sure if the fix worked or not - when I loaded up PH this morning - up popped the VX220 advert and my Internet explorer froze. It worked fine the second time - no advert!

Well I've had the pop up and It's only appears once every visit and doesn't cause any trouble at all. (On NT4 with IE5.5 or XP with IE 6).

Still getting a popup.
It makes the site impossible to navigate as not only does it pop up a new window for each page visited, but it appears right over the navigation (forward and back) buttons.

I'm off until it's fixed, can't be doing with this at work, sorry Ted.

Edited to say: Win NT and IE6.

Ted, I'm getting this VX220 popup every page now. It's getting very irritating - so much so I think I'll have to reinstall some anti-popup SW
This has only just started happening again today....
Using Mozilla 1.3
