OK, so the sun's out here in N.Ireland, 17 degrees today. I've bought the Tuscan to drive it, not keep it in a garage so I decided to use it for work today. Nice day, so back window out and roof off and into the boot.

Fine, great feeling driving the 30 miles into the City for morning meeting. Secure parking so left the roof off. Then cross town for an afternoon meeting, stopped for a sandwich on the way. Ah hah, what to do with the suit jacket and laptop. No room in the boot so have to carry it with me.

Then stopped off to visit a mate who'se opening a new shop. Again, parked up with roof off and had to carry jacket and laptop. This time, came back to the car to find some wee shite had pulled off the Tuscan badge from the back of the passenger seat.

So, you experienced daily driving Tuscan owners..what's the secret of making the Tuscan a bit more practical of a normal day. What does one do with the laptop (assuming most peope travel with one) What is the experience of leaving Tuscans with the roof off? I really want to use this motor. Should I have bought a convertible if I want to use it in the City and have open air motoring?

Alternatively, maybe I need to get faster at reinstating the roof and back window!

I leave mine with the roof off all the time - always carefull to remove easily pinchables ie lighter, radio facard etc. think you may have been a victim of some rather bad luck sir, either that or the badge fell of and is currently happily residing behind your seat!!!!!!!!! I suppose its better than finding someone sat in it!

why didn't the alarm go off?

do the tuscans have alarms that go off if someone puts a hand in the car?

Could be a variety of reasons alarm did not go off, as there is a sensitivity setting on them which can be varied. Mine used to go off with a gust of wind! However, not sure the alarm is a "microwave" type which would detect ingress into the cabin?

Top Tip >> super glue every thing down

Sorry to hear that mate, always been OK when I've left my roof off only people gloating inside which is fine by me as long as they don't touch.

Had some little scrotes nick my dust caps confused my neighbour caught them and give them a good telling off.

when i first bought my tuscan, i left the roof off, came back and someone sprayed silly string inside the cabin...second time, in the pub beer garden, thought i'll leave roof down as i will be sitting outside, but didnt see anyone doing this, but they sprayed hair mousse in the cabin...after that, i never left the roof down when parked up...and even then, when the roof was up, someone poured red wine on my hood

Hi Flat Six (Surely that should be Flat Speed Six now?)

Sorry to hear about your badge loss - but I have a theory - your missus probably nicked it just so she would know what to give you for your 40th birthday on 6th May - you'll get a new badge with your breakfast in bed? Or maybe it'll be in your Easter Egg - careful you don't eat it in your chocolate frenzy.

You missed a great TVR run up to the north coast. We only had one Tuscan - but we did have a Fezzer 355 Spider (ex-Tuscan owner - no not Mervyn!) with us. We had arranged for it to come along as a special pre-birthday treat just for you too!

Still we all enjoyed it and your champagne and goodies!

Even Mr Hurst could have joined us with his SZ now that Italian cars are allowed to come on TVR runs.

See what you all missed?

Jay

Check your insurance. The small print in mine says that convertibles are not covered if left unattended with the roof down.

Jay..bit early with the 40th - as a hint, I'll have a fresh hangover at the first TVR trackday!

Yep - had to miss yesterday's run. I've spent the last day and a half building the world's largest outdoor wooden play centre - at least it feels like I've build the world's largest.

Toucan the Tuscan will be out for a blast on Tues with Mssrs Hurst and McWatters.

As for Flat 6...still got the flat 6 motor so....

Hi Speed Flat 6 or should it be Splat 6.

Sorry for jumping the gun making you almost a month older than you are - I must have misunderstood your earlier post to ColinL.

Will Patrick have the SZ out on Tuesday - would be good to see it.

Jay

Hi Flat 6

There are Tuscan seat badges up for auction on ebay at present, just over a day to go.

Kippax - yep had a good look!

Jay Ayegees - got caught up in a bidding frenzy for the badges - may have another go tomorrow but price rising rapidly....I'll maybe get one of the kids to draw something and stick that on instead.
