Not answering the question, but how did you get "Sophie" out of the difficult position without doing a three-pointer?
carefully drove up the kerb and managed to use some of someones drive to make the turning circle at the end of the cul-de-sac!
Do you think Lambo will be open today?
Hope you get sorted mate. Ive started a new Lambo chat forum for Uk users, be handy to have specific details of issues good and bad on there. Its www.lambochat.co.uk. Let us know what the fault was and how it was resolved.

thanks spider!

Miyagi,
Sorry to say, but the first thing we look for in a Gallardo is how easy it is to get it into first and reverse, because any difficulty in doing this means the clutch has gone.
Also, when in first gear, with no throttle, if the car pulls away on the clutch alone showing anything over 1500 rpm on the rev counter, for every 100 rpm over indicates about 20% wear on the clutch.
Tricks of the trade.
Anything else you need to know, just ask.
Ruttboy.

Hi Ruttboy.
You are joking?? I haven't even had the car for two whole days yet?
I'm going to go and do the test you mentioned.
Will Lambo replace the clutch FOC under warranty or will I be faced with a HUGE bill?
Ruttboy can't really do that test as my car is parked on the road and my horrible neighbour is parked infront of me.
However I can get it into reverse when the engine is off? But when I did that I heard a clunking noise coming from the gear box with regular timing every two seconds?
And it still won't go into reverse when the engine is on?!

If you've only had the car for two days then id get on to the dealer with regards to the sales of goods act, Really they should sort it for nothing.
Other than that i wouldnt worry too much about the clutch,
I had a very competent mechanic fit mine and it ended up costing me around £1500.
I can also get a lambo techie to do a private job for £2000 if need be.
Pm me if you need any more info.

As Alan would have said, you need to make sure the car is on a flat and level surface.
This is why there is a Club (www.lamborghiniclubuk.com), of which Alan is a member.

One last point if you have difficulty with reverse, put into 1st gear hold the clutch down and then go quickly into reverse.
Mark.

you can't really do it "quickly" as you have to push the gear stick down to get it into reverse if you get what I mean?
The test for clutch wear works for both manual and E-gear cars.
Lamborghini developed an ecu program which allows you to creep in traffic without using the throttle. The car is designed not to stall, it will pick up and move off. It takes a bit of getting used to, but this allows you to move slowly without any clutch wear.
This works for both the G car and it's larger brother, but again, no one will tell you, the paying public about this, because clutches are good revenue earners, and no doubt someone will be along in a minute to tell me that I don't know what I am talking about.
