Right then, who can recommend some proper bike boots that are waterproof & comfortable to walk in (for +/- 3qtrs of a mile),they also need to be quick & easy to get on/off.

I've just started commuting on the bike & my old Dainese KC's have rubbed both ankles raw cry

I can recommend Daytona Evo Sports Goretex, they are not cheap but are very comfortable and keep you dry. I bought mine from Germany and saved roughly £125. In the UK they are £400 but from Germany they are €390 which roughly translates to £270. The site I got mine from is www.fc-moto.de/ and they took about 4-5 days to send them over.

Daytona boots have an inner boot which gives a lot more protection than a lot of other boots.

Another thumbs up for daytona boots however I can recommend their Roadstar GTX goretex boots, I've had three pairs. Very comfortable even from new. Easy to walk a fair distance in them too. They are £200 in the UK.

I have a pair of Alpinestars Supertechs which are fantastic. The only drawback with them is that they take about three days to put on, so I also have a pair of Sidi Vertigos for when I just cant be arsed

I can't believe they've had a good soaking then as mine leaked like a sieve after an hour.

My Puma's are gorgeously comfortable, both under a one piece and under the textiles, and are perfectly comfy enough to get away with wearing them all day with civvies, when I managed to forget the shoes one day at a remote site.

Take about 2 mins to put on. One bolt lost from the heel plate, but that was posted out by the dealer the same day, and the gearchange toe-plate is in entirely the wrong place for me, so the left toe is degrading at a rate I am keeping a very close eye on.

But, comfier than anything else I have tried, including my old Danner military boots, waterproof through slushy foggy nasty horrid rain, and they dont do the metallic clunk of the Alpinestars. The receptionists in Head Office know precisely when I am walking down the glass stairs behind them, though, and the Ghost Doctor thingy is slightly prone to squeaking without regular WD40.

I've got a set of Falco 315 SIRIUS, which were comfortable enough for walking around town yesterday, and they have a waterproof membrane that allows you to send in rivers if you like. - Cost a bit less than 100 squid.

Ahh yes.. I missed the waterproof part of the original question. I usually wear plastic bags over my feet (inside the boots) if it's chucking it down.

My Alpinestars SMX are very comfortable BUT
they are a pain in the harris to get on and off and creak and squeek really loudly to the point that if I communte to work everyone watches as I walk through orifice wondering what the noise is. Due to the creakng I only wear em on weekends or rides rather than communting, there are newer models which may be less noisey. PS its the ankle armour plates that rub on the heal armour that makes it noisey

Recently got some Sidi Vertigo Corsas; excellent boots with vents you can open on hot days (that actually work), look and feel like they would offer good protection in a crash, (although I'd rather not find out), plenty comfy enough for riding and walking, I walked a few miles at last weeks SBK meeting with no problems - in short, the best boots I've owned.

Don't know how waterproof they are but have not leaked on me yet, although I try to avoid heavy rain.
