does anyone know if its possible to fit a kids' seat on the parcel shelf? now I have typed this question out I feel guilty for even thinking of perching my little bundle of joy up there where it clearly isn't designed for human occupancy. But now there's 3 of us, the alternative is to start looking for another motor, and frankly there aren't that many out there to match the chim if you want proper performance in a true sports car with a conv. roof - add a second row of seats and frankly, I can only think of a 911 cabriolet. HELP!!

It's a no-no with insurance. Car is registered as a 2 seater.

I considered the same issue when I bought the Chim - I have a 1 yr old and a 3yr old, and by going instead for say a tidy 964 Cab (which it seems are not rated that well anyway by most enthusiastic drivers) could just about have fitted the family in. Then I decided that it was maybe not the best idea to be carrying the family around in a sports car anyway, so went for an old Merc for the family and a Chim for me. More than two in the Chim is a no-no, but a child seat goes in the front passenger seat ok.

I think this is a no-no legally unless you get the fitting inspected/approved at an inspection centre and the car re classified as a 3 or 4 seater. Then you would have to get someone to insure it...

open top, accident, flip, baby perched on parcel shelf ... do you really want to consider it any more?
