original radio fitted in early Tasmins

hi. can anybody tell me the brand and model of radio which was fitted factorywise in the early 280 tasmins?

I don't know the exact model, but a review here from 1979 says its a National Panasonic auto-reverse stereo Radio Cassette player. From the pictures, including those from some similar reviews, it seems to be a non digitial type. In one picture, I can see it has the 2 volume/tuning knobs on it, one each side, with a row of 5 tuning preset buttons along the bottom, with an analogue display for the stations just above these. In between the right hand knob and the display, there are 2 square push-in buttons, presumably for the forward and rewind tape function, and in between the left hand knob and the display, there is another single square button, presumably for the eject function.

The above may at least give you something to go on if you search the web for old Panasonic radios. And of course, there may not have been just one type of radio fitted. Could have been whatever TVR decided to buy at the time.

In around 1985 they were fitting Clarion radio/casettes. I still have a manual in my files. This year is probably too late for you though.

I have a panasonic auto reverse fitted in my 1984 350i.

My 1983 had a Blaupunkt AM-FM Cassette. My 1987 has an Alpine AM-FM Cassette unit.
