Goodwood Supercar test day 2007
Discussion
Here are a few photos I took at an old favorite, a Supercar test day at Goodwood taken this Thursday. It was very kindly organised by Peter Saywell and his company with a number of DeTomaso Drivers Club members with various other owners of the good, the bad, the very bad and interesting.
All proceeds on the day went to a children’s hospice including any fines so you’ll be pleased to know a certain Pistonheader well known on the Porsche forum went beyond the call of duty to chip in. Apparently power sliding a CGT out of the chicane is not considered good form at Goodwood or indeed lapping the organizer, good work from the philanthropic 993RSR!
Obviously with the noise police doing cart wheels it meant quite a few cars didn’t even make it onto the track but I was a little disappointed with the SLR which to be frank looked like a fish out of water on the track but none the less a fantastic variety of metal assembled and collected a healthy chunk of loot for a very good cause.
Still the journey home provided the best car of the day for me, there are more Harrison watches than these things and to see one of three British registered Panters Si’s on the M25 made an otherwise excellent day complete, even more strange is it hadn’t even been to Goodwood, utterly fantastic in each and every way
Last but not least Vario’s Turbo waiting its turn patiently, I have to say she did very well indeed after a fair old beating through the day together with a four hour trip back to Suffolk on the Thursday before Easter
