my T350 flashed up a warning for low oi pressure, checked dipstick and topped it up 1 litre, first top up since its service 4000 miles ago. anyhoo i got the warning again after a long drive, only at idle, when moving the pressure is above the recommended 30 odd psi the book recommends at 3000rpm.
it idles at around 800rpm @ 7-8 psi usually but the odd dip. my guss being is that after a long drive in this much warmer weather the oil gets up to 80c and becomes much thinner and causes the drop in pressure, as the oil/weather probably hasnt been that hot since last summer iv not had this concern, all other parts functioning fine, coolant level is fine and of normal colour, no obvious signs of any leaks and no odd noises to report.
any other ideas for things i should check?
thanks
graham

Hi Graham,I had a leaking oil pressure sender replaced a couple of weeks ago
and its exhibiting the same symptoms, Oil pressure is fine running from cold but once the water temp gets up to 90+ it can drop back to 3psi when the engine is on idle. Before the sender was replaced normal idle pressure was between 9 and ten psi. Im not too worried, the pressure sensors are adjustable and believe in my case it just requires a little tweak. Hopefully the same for you.
