difference old and new car
Discussion
I was just wondering. What is the difference between an 'old' griffith and a new model? I know they look different but do they have an other chassis or what? I know the cerbera has a slightly different chassis but that does not explain to me why it's handling should be so much better. In what way do the newer TVR's differ from the older one? And i want to know why they handle so different!(iknow that they have an other engine).
So basically tell me on which points they differ so much?

Freddy, and old griffith (1960s) is a ford V8 shortwheel base monster of a car. Griffths (1990s in the main) differed in engine options of 4.0, 4.3, 4.5 and 5.0 Litre.
In 1996? some fairly significant changes were made to supension pick up points that appeared to transform the handling of what was not a bad handling car to start with. Lots of small detial changes were made over the years they were built.

Don't forget the Griff design is getting on a bit from when they were first launched ( back in 91) so to be fair you need to make sure you've driven one that's been recently treated to new shocks / bushes etc at the very least.
Also the chassis design did change subtly over the years and one of the main reasons the griffs feel a lot more twitchy is the much shorter wheelbase than the cerb and even the 6 cyl cars. Its even shorter than the wedges which preceded it!
A good well sorted griff should be able to hold its own with a tamora etc but it will need nitrons and well set-up suspension. Even then the driver is going to be a lot busier
However I changed my cerebra to a griff for this very reason, to my mind the cerb was too good and I was having to go d@mn fast everywhere to get any jollies out of it.
Whereas the Griff 'feels' fast, sounds better and is more fun basically
