Alarm problem

Car sitting sedately in garage and now for no apparent reason the alarm goes off. I seem to have a Laserline system that operates the central locking as well. I have turned it off under ther bonnet with the key and noticed to white plastic screws - pots. Am I correct in assuming one operates the alarm duration and the other the sensitivity? Any way of knowing which is which? I guess I should try turning pots anti-clockwise and resetting and see what happens. Any other ideas?

In the good old days when I worked in vehicle security, the two pots on Laserlines set the ultrasonic sensitivity and the motion sensor sensitivity.

Of course if it's something recent it might be different
