I know a couple of people, aswell as your good selves, that enjoy photography, but also manage to sell their photos on various websites.

I was wondering how would someone go about doing this???

I was at Harewood recently taking photos of the proceedings and Im really proud of my efforts of my first motorsport event with the new camera and I would love to continue and improve also, I would be interested in offering them on the market, but as the Harewood official snappers are Whatnonegatives, how would I go about doing it?

Would I need to seek permission before selling?

Thanks in advance

Putting aside the permission thing for a moment (others know more about this than me, but selling photos from private ground such as racetracks/stately homes etc can be problematic)

The best way is a site like www.Photobox.co.uk who give you free space, you set the cost (and they take a small cut)

Many of us have stuff for sale on their site as the results never dissapoint the customer.

Here's mine for example:

Thanks Steve

The one site I was thinking about was actually Photobox as I am currently taking advantage of their free 30 shots offer at the moment when I saw the professional gallery!

I'll finish my upload then take a look at your pics although I know your's are always excellent and well documented

I just checked the stats... 2000+ visitors to the gallery and 53 sales

Not sure whether to be pleased or insulted hehe

What sort of size do the photos need to be and what sort of price would be deemed reasonable for photos then?

You just set a % mark up (or set price). So if Photobox charger £10 for an A3 you can say I want to sell it for £20 (or whatever). Personally I don't mark up that much.... selling A2 for £20

So im guessing if the sizes are increased as much as that, it will need to be above 300dpi?

Good thing mine are

Heres some of the shots I have stored at the moment, but not on photobox
