So, who was this at the Nordschleife?

so come on then - if you were the slowest what was your time - did you for example beat Jeremy Clarkson and his 9:59 in the diesel Jag?
I think you mean......."did you for example beat Jeremy Clarkson and his obviously highly imaginary and heavily edited 9:59 given the way in which he was driving in the diesel Jag?
There will be another black 56 plate VXR there on the weekend of 12/13 May - and I'll be behind the wheel....
Excuses first:
This was the first time I have driven my own car on a track.
This was the first time that I have been to the 'ring.
This is currently the only car we have until a new family motor arrives next Saturday.
So please forgive me if I didn't keep much of an eye on the time. We did think about it on our last lap but had to slow down for yellow flags and lights on two occasions.
I agree with the comment about the brakes. My car is standard (less ripshift) but the only thing that needed to be improved in my mind was the stopping power of the brakes. They work well and didn't fade as we only did two laps at a time but it did require quite a lot of effort to slow the car down at times.
Enjoy the trip in May. I will be away then but plan to go back in June before we return to the UK later in the year.

Right lets get this sorted out.
We all know black is the most efficient colour for absorbing heat.
When the body of the car absorbs heat the molecules in the metal get further apart, thus the car gets bigger. When a car gets bigger and you don't increase the power output the car goes slower.
Thus black cars are the slower because they are bigger.
Silver is a very efficient colour for reflecting and radiating heat so silver cars don't increase in size as much as black cars.
So in conclusion Quicksilver cars are the fastest.

I've had a great weekend.
So, having tracked round Spa, we then proceeded to the Ring. I've been there many many times (I have well in excess of 100 laps under my belt) but always on bikes before, never in a car.
The VXR was fantastic, I'm well pleased with it and really impressed. Got to know it much better over the weekend and all was good. The other thing - HOW much attention did it get?? Every time I parked up, people were all over it, and it got massive attention on the roads too.

Well done Mark for flying the flag, was it wet out there? and if so did it lay down the power ok.
I always go to the ring once a year, and this year will be the VXR's turn, mind you I almost always do the evening sessions as the tour buses have gone by then. Mind you, saying that I missed out last year as no sooner I got there three people decided to kill themselves on track, so they closed it for the rest of the day, bugger, wasted trip!
Just one other thing, do you have sports exhusts fitted, I say this as I know of a lot of people being flaged off now for too much noise, and worse that that they put you in a sin bin for up to two hours.
