At Bedford Autodrome today - quickly turned into the most expensive trackday ever at 50p a metre.
2006 e-gear, standard spec.
Static noise test registered at 101db - that's at the limit for Bedford autodrome
Lap one, 3rd corner - black flagged.
Tripped the driveby sensors and I wasn't exactly trying having trundled out for the first lap!
85.7db bringing the day to an abrupt end. For reference F430, 996 GT3 etc all fine.....

Has anyone else investigated supertrap etc for trackdays?

David Y said on CS that his 430 failed yesterday and got black flagged
Todays 430 driver must not have been trying

Just be careful you don't get too much back pressure and blow a piston ring.

Andy uses bolt on silencers and I've used them on the Tubi'd 360, work Ok but look a bit messy.

Bedford are one of the strictest tracks out there for noise testing.

If you have anything remotely loud sounding, don't go.

(Sympathies for poster )

Hi,

Had a similar day at Donington couple of years back in my GT2. £ 155 for two laps!!. The 06 spec Gallardo above 4.5K is basically straight through and is seriously loud even with the cats on. My car even with my special 'AC engineering silencers' is still pulling 104db static.

Andy.

I may book some Goodwood loud days; 105db static - but will be asking what the driveby limit is - annoying of course as it's nigh on impossible to test this before arriving at a track.

I used to work at the former USAF base at Upper Heyford. A company used to run F355 days up there with bolt-on silencers because the locals complained about the noise.

Considering they had a squadron of F111 fighter there less than 10 years ago this seemed a little silly.

Bad luck.

When I drove the '06 at Milbrook last year, it was profoundly louder than the LP640 and Veyron.

Certainly is a vocal little fella.

Finding tolerant track venues for Lambos has been a long standing problem. It isn't getting any easier.

Condolances.
